CONNECT BRAZIL/PERU in conjunction with Amazon for Christ will continue the mission of the Great Physician as the team works with national pastors to evangelize unreached people using mobile medical clinics. These medical clinics open new areas to church planting. The team will also gain firsthand experience in several aspects of missionary work that are unique to the Amazon, such as jungle boat ministry, school evangelism, tropical wildlife, and the unique hospitality of the region.
CONNECT BRAZIL/PERU will be hosted by BIMI Missionaries Mark Gerosin, Peter Putney, Aaron Reisinger, Seth Lunday, and several national pastors.
Brazil and Peru are among nine South American countries that share the Amazon basin. The Amazon holds the largest concentration of uncontacted people found anywhere on earth. The team will be traveling by boat to remote river villages in the region. The people of the Amazon are comprised of three groups: local fishing villages, indigenous tribes, and uncontacted tribes. The focus will be on the fishing villages where Spanish is predominately spoken and ministry opportunities among the Ticuna, an indigenous people group in Latin America.
CONNECT BRAZIL/PERU team members will have a choice to meet in Chattanooga on June 10, to fly with us, or have his flight booked from the airport nearest his home directly to Leticia. Upon making the $100 deposit, each participant will receive a handbook detailing pertinent information to help prepare for the trip. Additional money may be brought along for activities, gifts, or souvenirs.
Special Requirements: Ages 16–65 in good physical health—medical training is welcome but not required.

If you will be using your medical training to assist the team, you will be required to provide a copy of your credentials and diploma.
